Dr. Dana Van Pelt, PT, DPT, MBA, ATC
Physical TherapistDana is the founder and owner of the Palm Beach Institute of Sports Medicine, established in 1980. He has degrees from: Ithaca College, Stony Brook University, Nova Southeastern University, and Temple University. These combined clinical and business backgrounds have provided the requisite training and experiences for his management of professional, collegiate, and high school athletic health care programs. His innovative and creative spirit combined with his work beside astute colleagues provides the fabric for all that exists at the Palm Beach Institute of Sports Medicine. Dana actively examines, evaluates, and treats patients. His sub-specialty areas of concentration are orthopedic and sports medicine physical therapy. He and his colleagues take great pride in assisting students in their advancement of higher learning. Dana is a Clinical Instructor for our physical therapy students.
Dr. Matthew Butler, PT, DPT, OCS, FAAOMPT
Physical TherapistMatt has been a practicing manual physical therapist for over 15 years. He is originally from the Chicago area. In 1997, Matt received his Bachelor of Science in Psychology from Purdue University. After a brief career in genetics, he went on to receive his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Miami in 2005. After graduation, Matt worked for a number of years in Pilates-based rehabilitation specializing in spine and sports conditions. Then, in 2010, he completed a Fellowship for the American Academy of Orthopaedic Manual Physical Therapists at the University of Illinois at Chicago. Matt holds certifications in Graston, Strength and Conditioning, Pilates Rehabilitation as well as manual therapy. Matt and his family are happy once again to call South Florida home.
Dr. Regine Rossi, PT, DPT
Physical TherapistRegine is originally from Long Island, NY, but grew up right here in Palm Beach County. She received a bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida - go Gators! - and worked in education for a number of years before deciding that physical therapy was a better career fit. She received the Doctor of Physical Therapy degree from Baylor University in 2020 and in 2022 completed a sports PT residency in Sacramento, CA, where she enjoyed working with youth, high school, college, professional, and tactical athletes of various types. Regine holds certifications as an EMT and firefighter as well as in strength and conditioning, personal training, and performance and sport science, and enjoys teaching exercise science courses online for the University of Connecticut. When she’s not training for a powerlifting or strongwoman meet, she loves spending time with her family and her three rescue pups.
Dr. Andrea Catano, PT, DPT
Physical TherapistBorn in Colombia and raised in Coral Springs since the age of 2, Andrea considers herself a South Florida native. She graduated cume laude with a Bachelor’s in Exercise Science and Health Promotion from Florida Atlantic University in 2014 and received her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of St. Augustine in 2020 along with the Stanley V. Paris and Catherine E. Patla Award for Excellence in Manual Therapy. Her professional interests include orthopedics, vestibular rehab, and manual therapy. During her free time, you can find her spending time with her family, doing CrossFit and Olympic weightlifting in her garage, or reading classic novels with her Bengal cat by her side.
Kathryn Sadler, MS, OTR/L, CHT
Occupational TherapistKathryn Sadler is a registered and licensed occupational therapist and certified hand therapist. Originally from Seattle, Washington, she has called South Florida home for the past 20 years. She graduated cum laude from FAU with a degree in anthropology and received her Masters degree in occupational therapy in 2012. Since then she has worked exclusively in outpatient hand therapy clinics and orthopedic physicians offices. Her passion is using a holistic approach in helping clients fully recover and return to their activities of daily living.
Dr. Melissa Clarke, PT, DPT, OCS
Physical TherapistMelissa completed her undergraduate and graduate education from the University of Florida (UF), receiving her Doctorate of Physical Therapy in 2018. Since graduation, she has gained experience working primarily in orthopedic outpatient settings. Her passion for learning and desire to help people improve their quality of life led her to consider a physical therapy residency program. Immediately following graduation from UF Melissa moved to Houston, Texas to participate in the Harris Health System Orthopedic Residency Program in which she had the opportunity to treat medically complex patients with orthopedic and/or chronic health conditions. Melissa recently completed her Orthopedic Clinical Specialist and seeking opportunities to further expand her manual therapy skills. Outside of work, you can find her trying different coffee shops in the area, adding to her collection of unique mugs, and spending time with her family and friends.
Dr. Zachary Bordeau, PT, DPT
Physical TherapistZack received his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from the University of Miami (Go Canes!). During his time as a doctorate student, he participated in multiple research studies that were accepted for presentation to the American Physical Therapy Association’s Combined Sections Meeting in 2020 and 2022. His passion for physical therapy stems from his athletic history as he suffered a spine injury playing football in high school where he was told he would never play again. His physical therapist worked with him for 6 months to get him to be able to return to playing. This event inspired him to become a physical therapist where he too can place emphasis on patient’s needs and goals. Zack also holds a Bachelor's degree in exercise science from Florida Atlantic University, and began his career as an exercise physiologist here at Palm Beach Institute of Sports Medicine. He is excited to return and bring the highest quality care to his patients.
Dr. Allyson Taragano, PT, DPT
Physical TherapistAlly was born and raised in South Florida. She completed her Bachelor’s degree at Florida State University and received her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at Nova Southeastern University. She has extensive experience working in outpatient sports and orthopedic clinics, where she has treated patients of all ages with a large range of injuries and pathologies. Ally utilizes many different types of treatment including therapeutic exercise and manual therapy, and is certified in Graston and FMT Rockpod cupping. Ally has always had a passion for helping people and is motivated as a physical therapist to help her patients reach their goals and improve their quality of life. In her free time, she enjoys exercising, traveling, and spending time with her family and friends.
Dr. Hannah Dickerson, DPT
Physical TherapistHannah is originally from South Georgia. She received her bachelor’s degree in Exercise Physiology at Valdosta State University prior to completing her Doctorate of Physical Therapy at the University of Florida. Her professional interests include orthopedic and sports medicine. During her free time, she enjoys staying active, spending time with friends and family, and watching her favorite sports teams (Go Braves, Go Gators, Go Dawgs!)
Dr. Gokalp Kiral, PT, DPT, GTS, SFMA
Physical TherapistGokalp is originally from Istanbul, Turkey and came to the US at a young age, growing up in nearby Pembroke Pines. Having played sports (soccer and basketball) for most of his life, he has had his fair share of musculoskeletal injuries, and is a huge proponent of the saying “you’re capable of more than you would ever think”. He developed a passion for physical therapy after breaking his femur during a basketball game and attending physical therapy for a prolonged recovery process. He received his Bachelor’s Degree in 2017 from the University of Florida (Go Gators!) and his Doctorate in Physical Therapy in 2020 from Florida International University (Paws Up!). While completing his doctorate, Gokalp took part in research that analyzed the differences in gait symmetry between amputees and non-amputees and presented this research with his colleagues at the 2020 APTA Combined Sections Meeting in Denver, CO. Gokalp currently holds certifications in Graston Technique, SFMA and is on the verge of obtaining his Manual Therapy Certification. He has an extensive background in both orthopedic and neurological settings, treating a variety of conditions such as Parkinson’s Disease, Orthopedic Injuries (surgical and non-surgical), Multiple Sclerosis and Strokes, just to name a few. During his free time, Gokalp enjoys traveling, playing soccer and basketball, watching sports (especially the Florida Gators and Philadelphia Eagles) as well as spending quality time with family and friends. He is always on the lookout for a new pair of sneakers to add to his collection.
